About Chobits
In the future, personal computers have developed into "Persocoms," mobile computers that look like human beings. Hideki Motosuwa, a prep school student, desperately wants to buy a Persocom but cannot afford to. One day, he finds a Persocom that has been thrown away and decides to keep it. When he turns on the Persocom, all she can say is "Chii" so he decides to name her that. After a while, it starts to become apparent that Chii is more than an average Persocom. Having much better performance, it seems that Chii might be a "Chobit," a type of advanced Persocom rumored to have independent thought.

Chii Characters Profile
Chii Profile
Chii is a Persocom who is found by Hideki Motosuwa in a garbage dump. At first, she is only able to say "Chii", thus earning her that name. Later on, she is taught various things, and is eventually able to communicate with other people.

Freya Profile
Freya shares exactly the same appearance as Chi since they are twin sisters. She has the same hairlock like Chi has. Unlike her sister, Freya wears darker clothes, contrasting with Chi, who has more of an affinity to light clothes. She mostly appears wearing a black PVC outfit and a matching headdress. Her personality is darker, more distant, and cold-looking, unlike her innocent and warm-looking sister. Like Chi (Elda), Freya is one of the legendary custom-made Chobits.

Sumomo Profile
Sumomo is a mobile persocom - which is the persocom equivalent of a laptop computer. She is programmed to be cute and tends to be quite hyperactive, for example her morning 'wakey wakey exercises'.
At the beginning of the series, Shinbo uses Sumomo in an attempt to analyze Chi, and Sumomo is nearly broken in the process, requiring new main memory, and in the manga, a new video card as well. Once Kotoko joined Hideki, she quickly came to the conclusion that Sumomo was crazy, with her nonsensical ways. Sumomo's password after being received by Hideki is Chobits (case sensitive) and ちょびっツ (case sensitive because of the katakana at the end)

Yuzuki Profile
Yuzuki is a persocom created by Minoru Kokubunji roughly two years before the start of the series. Yuzuki was created to resemble, physically and mentally, Minoru's late sister, Kaede, who had died from an illness two years earlier. Yuzuki was programmed with all of the data that Minoru could remember about his sister; what she liked, what she disliked, her habits and behaviors everything. However, Minoru still realizes that no matter how realistic she may be, she is still only a persocom that is following her programming. Yuzuki, despite not having the same processing capacity as a persocom like Chi, also seems to possess an awareness of her own limitations.

Kotoko Profile
Kotoko is another laptop persocom, like Sumomo, but she was custom-built by Yoshiyuki and has much higher specifications than Sumomo.
Kotoko is far more serious than Sumomo, and thinks that everyone in the Motosuwa household is crazy, especially Sumomo, although she herself occasionally exhibits a sarcastic wit. Kotoko is programmed to always tell the truth, no matter what, even when it works to Yoshiyuki's disadvantage.
